Ma thèse vise à étudier les violences sexuelles subies par les sportives et les sportifs, à l’aide des concepts et des méthodes qualitatives (entretiens, observations) de la sociologie et de la science politique. En mobilisant la sociologie du sport, des institutions, du genre, du corps, de la mobilisation, de la socialisation et l’analyse des politiques publiques, je chercherai à définir les violences sexuelles dans le sport, à étudier les spécificités du champ sportif au regard de ces violences et à comprendre les mécanismes qui permettent leur perpétuation et leur impunité dans le sport. Étudier les violences sexuelles dans le sport permettra d’analyser et de comprendre les rapports de pouvoir et les rôles sociaux genrés dans un secteur qui se revendique comme hermétique au champ politique, tout en observant la construction d’un problème public et des politiques publiques y répondant.

La recherche s’organisera autour de trois axes : une sociologie des institutions sportives à travers l’étude de la socialisation des sportif·ve·s et le contrôle de leur corps, une socio-histoire d’une mobilisation « improbable » contre les violences sexuelles dans le sport, et une sociologie d’un problème public en cours de construction, par le prisme de la politisation de certains témoignages de victimes et le travail des institutions sportives notamment ministérielles et fédérales.

The aim of my thesis is to study the sexual violence suffered by sportswomen and sportsmen, using concepts and qualitative methods (interviews, observations) from sociology and political science. By drawing on the sociology of sport, institutions, gender, the body, mobilisation, socialisation and the analysis of public policies, I will seek to define sexual violence in sport, to study the specific features of the field of sport with regard to such violence and to understand the mechanisms that allow it to continue and go unpunished in sport. Studying sexual violence in sport will enable us to analyse and understand the power relationships and gendered social roles in a sector that claims to be hermetically sealed off from the political arena, while at the same time observing the construction of a public problem and the public policies that respond to it.

The research will be organised round three themes: a sociology of sports institutions through the study of the socialisation of sportspeople and the control of their bodies, a socio-history of an 'unlikely' mobilisation against sexual violence in sport, and a sociology of a public problem in the making, through the prism of the politicisation of certain victims' testimonies and the work of sports institutions, particularly ministerial and federal.
